Our Surface Finishing Specifications

Surface finishes can vary based on the material, color, and price. Please refer to the specifications below for detailed information on each finish option.

As Machined

The fastest finishing option. Parts are delivered with visible tool marks and may have sharp edges or burrs, which can be removed upon request. The surface typically corresponds to a 125 µin Ra finish.

Anodizing

An electrochemical coating that improves corrosion resistance and appearance.

Type II: Available in clear, black, red, gold, and more.

Type III: Thicker and harder for added wear and corrosion protection.

Bead Blasting

Abrasive media is propelled at high pressure to create a uniform matte texture. Ideal for cosmetic parts where a smooth, non-reflective appearance is desired.

Sand Blasting

Similar to bead blasting but uses sand-based abrasive material. Produces a matte, textured finish suitable for smoothing surfaces or removing imperfections.

Plating

A thin metal layer is applied to the part to improve durability, conductivity, and appearance. Creates a smooth and glossy finish while protecting against corrosion.

Painting

A coating of liquid or powdered paint is applied to achieve a smooth, glossy, or clear finish. This method can enhance appearance and provide basic environmental protection.

Polishing

A mechanical finishing process that smooths and buffs the surface to achieve a reflective, glossy appearance. Reduces surface roughness and improves overall aesthetics.

Chromate

A conversion coating that creates a matte, clear protective layer. Enhances corrosion resistance while maintaining electrical conductivity—often used for aluminum and zinc parts.

Powder Coating

Available in smooth, glossy, or matte finishes. Offers excellent durability and corrosion resistance.

Laser Engraving

Produces a textured, matte surface, ideal for adding intricate designs or text to parts.

Deburring

A smooth, matte finish that removes sharp edges and burrs from machined parts.

Nitriding

Offers a smooth or matte finish, enhancing surface hardness and wear resistance, typically used on steel parts.

DLC Coating

A smooth, matte, or glossy finish that provides high wear resistance and low friction for metal parts.

Quench-Polish-Quench

Achieves a smooth, glossy finish with improved surface hardness, commonly used for high-performance parts.

Phosphate

Creates a matte, textured finish that improves corrosion resistance, often used for steel and iron parts.

Grinding

Achieves a smooth or matte finish, typically used for parts requiring precision and fine surface finish.

Transparent PMMA

A clear, smooth finish ideal for optical clarity and aesthetic applications.

Clear PC

A clear, smooth finish, often used for parts requiring transparency and durability.

Chemical Film

Provides a clear, smooth, or matte finish, enhancing corrosion resistance for aluminum and other alloys.

Silk Screen

A textured, matte finish used for printing designs, logos, or text onto parts.

Heat Treatment

Provides a smooth, matte finish, used to strengthen parts while improving their wear resistance.

E-Coating

Available in smooth, matte, or glossy finishes, offering excellent corrosion resistance and uniform coverage.

Brushing

Provides a matte, textured finish, commonly used for stainless steel and aluminum parts for a refined, uniform look.

Alodine

Produces a matte or clear finish that improves corrosion resistance and is commonly used for aluminum parts.

Ceramic Coating

Available in smooth, glossy, or textured finishes, providing enhanced durability, wear resistance, and heat protection.
